This version of Life in the Factory was filmed by Paul Neudorf at Theatre La Chapelle in Montreal. The ending line, “I want to see the sun” is a substitute for the original line “Today I bought a gun” due to the fact that the age group attending the show ranged from 8 to 70.
I designed the belt and had it built in Toronto where the piece was premiered in a larger work called Toy Weather (Lorenz, chaos theory, butterfly effect etc) but the song was written years before, and first sung on Long Island in the late 1970s.
Hope you enjoy it. – Rick
